Asqusay it “ask-you”

Version control that nobody has to manage.

Asqu saves every change with the reason behind it, so you can undo, or go back to any point, in plain words. Built for working with AI. Works with any AI, or none.

AskSeeUndoQuestions only when it matters
curl -fsSL https://asqu.dev/install | sh

macOS and Linux. On Windows, in PowerShell: irm https://asqu.dev/install.ps1 | iex. With Homebrew: brew install iDevEngineer/asqu/asqu. Every download's fingerprint is checked before installing, and Asqu keeps itself up to date. Free to use; by installing you agree to the licence. Or just ask your AI: “Install Asqu from asqu.dev.”

What it does

Saves everything, by itself

No commits, no staging, no setup. Every change is kept, with what was asked and who (or which AI) did it.

Undo in plain words

“Undo that.” “Go back to Tuesday.” “Before the signup change.” You see exactly what will change first, and even an undo can be undone.

Try ideas safely

Tries are separate copies. Keep the one you like; Asqu combines it, runs your tests, and asks before anything risky.

Any AI, on equal terms

Claude, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini or none. asqu setup asks any AI to record your requests in your words.

A safety net for AI

Risky changes, like removed files or payment code, wait for your OK, and an AI can't approve them for you. Every change is signed, so tampering shows.

Backed up, set once

Choose a place once, like iCloud Drive, Dropbox or cloud storage, and every project backs itself up there. Bring any project back on a new computer.

All your projects in one view

asqu open shows the project you're in, with a menu to see every project's latest changes and history.

Sensible with big files

Videos and other files over 100 MB are left out of the history automatically, so projects stay fast. Keep one on purpose with a single line.

A minute with Asqu

# see what happened, and why $ asqu log #3 "Tidy up the homepage" — Edited style.css; removed index.html (via Claude Code) #2 "Make signup faster" — Edited signup.html (+2 −4 lines) ★ v1 launched # that last one went wrong $ asqu undo Went back to #2. Saved as #4. Run `asqu undo` to reverse it. # or in plain words $ asqu back before the signup change # the simple view, in your browser $ asqu open
